Registration for 2023-24 hockey season opens in the spring!Sign-up to be notified

Hello Humber Valley families,

Earlier this week, our governing body the GTHL, released their Game Plan 2.0 framework outlining return to play protocols and procedures for the 2021-22 season.

View the complete Game Plan 2.0 document here.

Developed in alignment with Hockey Canada’s Safety Guidelines, the Ontario government’s Return to Sport Guidelines, and the expert advice of medical and public health officials, the framework aims to get players back on the ice in a safe, fun environment while minimizing the risk of infection.

The GTHL’s Vaccination Policy is also included in the document. The policy requires that all GTHL Executives, Directors and staff, team officials, timekeepers, on-ice officials, instructors, in-arena employees of the GTHL and players who were born in or before 2009 to be vaccinated unless the individual has a valid medical reason or has an approved exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code. This means that as members of the GTHL, all Humber Valley Executives, Directors, coaches, team staff and instructors, on-ice officials, time keepers and players born in or before 2009 will be required to adhere to this policy.

We understand that there are a number of questions related to the policies and procedures released.  We are working with the GTHL to get answers to these questions and will follow up with details as soon as they are available.

In the meantime, we want to remind families that we have a flexible refund policy in place which provides a full refund to anyone that is required to withdraw from our programs. This policy extends right up until the start of the 2021-22 season which is expected to commence in late September or early October.

On behalf of your Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Steve Allmen
President, Humber Valley Hockey Association
