Select Program

For House League Players U10+

(For players U9 and younger, please see our CDP Program)

The Humber Valley Select Program offers players the opportunity to compete at a higher level than House League while remaining on a more economical budget than "A," “AA” or “AAA” programs. The focus of Select is on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive competitive experiences throughout a player’s minor hockey career.

What to know about our Select Program

  • Players compete on one team only and typically have:

    • One league game per week

    • One to two practices per week

  • No body checking at all ages and skill divisions

  • Humber Valley Select teams compete in the Mississauga Hockey League (MHL) against teams from across the GTA, including Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, and Milton

  • All league games are played west of Keele Street

  • Teams are placed in the division and tier best suited to their level of experience

  • Humber Valley enters teams in the MHL “A”, “Red”, and “White” divisions

  • The regular season runs from October through March, with no games during the Christmas break or March Break

  • Teams also participate in weekend tournaments throughout the season​​

Select Tryouts

Select tryouts occur in the Spring. Information, including dates, times, and locations, will be posted here when available.

Program Fees

There are additional fees to participate in Select hockey beyond House League registration. These additional costs typically cover:

  • Team practice ice

  • Mississauga Hockey League (MHL) team registration

  • Tournament entry fees

  • Team uniforms and related costs

Coaches will provide an estimated seasonal cost at the time of tryouts.
