May at Humber Valley

As we officially close out the 2025–26 hockey season, I want to thank every player, coach, volunteer, and family who helped make this another memorable year at Humber Valley.

From our youngest players stepping onto the ice for the very first time, to our teams competing deep into playoffs and championship runs, this season was filled with growth, hard work, and incredible moments across our community.

As tryouts for the 2026–27 season wrap up, it’s exciting to already look ahead to what’s next for our players and programs. The energy and enthusiasm around Humber Valley continues to grow, and we’re proud of the strong community we continue to build together year after year.

This will be our final newsletter update of the season as we head into the summer months, with our next full update coming in August as we prepare for another exciting year of hockey at Humber Valley..

House League Registration is Open

Registration for the 2026–27 season officially opened last month, and we’re already seeing very strong interest, especially in our younger age groups from U5 to U7.

Several divisions are filling quickly, and we strongly encourage families to register early to avoid being waitlisted.

Whether your child is just getting started in hockey or returning for another season, we’re excited to welcome players back for another year focused on fun, development, and community.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at the rink in the fall!

Financial Assistance Available

At Humber Valley, we believe every child should have the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of financial circumstances.

We’re proud to offer financial assistance through our own club program and encourage families to also explore additional funding opportunities through external programs including KidSport and JumpStart.

If financial support would help make hockey possible for your family, we encourage you to apply.

Volunteer Appreciation Night

Our volunteers are the heart of Humber Valley Hockey, and we’re excited to celebrate everything they do for our players and community this season.

All House League, CDP, and TWHL volunteers and coaches are invited to join us for our Volunteer Appreciation Night:

📍 The Old Sod, 2936 Bloor Street West

📅 May 28, 2026

⏰ 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

We hope you’ll join us for a fun evening as we recognize and thank the incredible people who help make Humber Valley possible.

Winner’s Circle 🏆

🚨 GTHL CHAMPIONS ALERT 🚨Our U10 AA Sharks are GTHL Champions!!!

With a hard-fought 3–1 win in Game 4 over Forest Hill, our U10 AA Sharks have officially been crowned GTHL Champions.

This is an incredible accomplishment and a true testament to their commitment, teamwork, and determination throughout the season. From the first puck drop to the final buzzer, every player showed what it means to wear the Sharks jersey with pride.

A huge congratulations to our players, coaches, and families! Way to go Sharks! 🦈

NTC Drill of the Month

This month’s featured drill from our partner NTC Hockey is designed to help players sharpen their skills off the ice. These quick, targeted exercises are a great way to complement your on-ice training, build confidence, and stay game-ready. Watch the video and give it a try at home or during your next dryland session!Did you know that NTC offers special pricing for Humber Valley teams? Want to book a dryland assessment?👉 Contact info@ntchockey.com.

Lateral power and control are at the core of hockey performance. This lateral lunge variation helps athletes improve edge control, build explosive acceleration, and develop the strength and stability needed for puck battles — all while strengthening the hips and groin to help prevent injuries.

Closing Message from Our President

As the season comes to a close, I want to once again thank everyone who contributes to making Humber Valley such a special place to play hockey.

Our organization is built by an incredible community of volunteers, coaches, players, and families who care deeply about creating a positive experience for every child who wears a Humber Valley jersey.

Congratulations again to all of our teams and players on a fantastic season. Enjoy the summer, enjoy some time away from the rink, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in August as we begin preparations for another great season together.

Ross Bitove

President, Humber Valley Hockey Association
